On December 28, Osh State University hosted a republican scientific-practical conference “Multifaceted Kyrgyz scholar” dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the outstanding Kyrgyz linguist, manas scholar, teacher, translator, and participant of the Great Patriotic War Ziyash Bektenov.
The conference was attended by faculty and students.
Gulina Zhamgyrchieva spoke on “Educational and literary activities of Ziyash Bektenov”, Abdumitalip Murzakmetov – “Ziyash Bektenov – folklorist and ethnographer”, Farida Aliyeva – “Pedagogical activities of Ziyash Bektenov.”
Prominent scientist Ziyash Bektenov T. Co-authored with Baijiev “Mother tongue” of 3-4 grades, U. Абдукаимов, К. Karasaev and 4th grade “Our Literature”, in 1948-49 together with Tashym Baijiev “Kyrgyz literature” of 8th grade (folklore), “Kyrgyz language” for 3-4 grades of Russian schools (1959), 5- He wrote textbooks and curricula for the 4th grade Kyrgyz Literature (1963) and the 4th grade Kyrgyz Literature (1969).
He took an active part in the work related to the epic “Manas” and turned it into slander. He translated from Russian D. Fonvizin’s “Kempai”, N. Ostrovsky’s “Dobul”, K. Goldoni’s “Servant of Two Gentlemen”, Nazym Hikmet’s “Forgotten Man”, Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion”.
The conference was organized by the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology and Journalism.
