International online conference – Department of Anatomy, Histology and Normal Physiology
On March 19, 2021, the International Scientific Conference “Clinical and Morphological Aspects of Fundamental and Applied Medical Research” was held, organized by the departments of the morphology of V.G. N.N. Burdenko (Voronezh, Russia), Peoples’ Friendship University (Moscow, Russia), Osh State University (Osh, Kyrgyzstan), Andijan State Medical Institute (Andijan, Uzbekistan) under the auspices of the Scientific Medical Society of Anatomists, Histologists and Embryologists (SMSAHE).
More than 100 specialists from VSMU named after V.I. N.N. Burdenko (Voronezh, Russia), Medical Institute of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (Moscow, Russia), International Medical Faculty of Osh State University (Osh, Kyrgyzstan) and Andijan State Medical Institute (Republic of Uzbekistan). It is gratifying to note that this large-scale scientific event, which was held for the first time in such a format, was preceded by many years of scientific cooperation between the departments of normal human anatomy of V.G. N.N. Burdenko (Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, H.E Professor Alekseeva N.T.) and Anatomy, Histology and Normal Physiology of Osh State University (Head of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences, H.E Associate Professor Sakibaev K.Sh.
The conference was opened by the advisor to the rector of VSMU. N.N. Burdenko, head. Department of Operative Surgery with Topographic Anatomy, H.E Professor A.V. Black. In his speech, he noted that morphological disciplines are the basis of fundamental medical knowledge, therefore, planning this conference, we wanted to emphasize the importance of studying the fundamental disciplines, their close relationship with the clinic, and high practical importance for health care.
Welcoming speeches were made by the President of SMSAHE, corresponding member. RAS, H.E professor D.B. Nikityuk; rector of VSMU named after N.N. Burdenko, H.E professor I.E. Esaulenko, Rector of Osh State University, Professor K.G. Kozhobekov and Vice-Rector for Science of the Andijan State Medical Institute H.E G.M. Khadzhimatov.
The plenary session was chaired by the head. Department of Normal Human Anatomy, H.E Professor N.T. Alekseeva. The reports presented at the conference touched upon the issues of anthroponutriciology and constitutional morphology, regeneration, and morphogenesis. Head of Osh State University presented reports. Department of Anatomy, Histology and Normal Physiology, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor K.Sh. Sakibaev, senior lecturer M.N. Nuruev and senior lecturer of the department of histology and pathological anatomy Zhanybek kyzy K. Materials on the constitutional characteristics of persons of the Kyrgyz population in conditions of relative norm were presented. The topic of the conference found a response among representatives of clinical departments. From VSMU them. N.N. Burdenko was attended by employees of the Department of General Surgery – Head. department, professor H.E A.A. Glukhov and Professor A.A. Andreev. Osh State University was represented by the staff of the department “Clinical disciplines No. 2” under the leadership of the head. department, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor M.M. Bugubaeva. The departments presented reports in which issues were highlighted at a high methodological level, incl. the morphological equivalent of some diseases.
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has affected many areas of our lives, including education. The digitalization of the education system, which intensified during the pandemic, significantly influenced the usual forms of relationships between participants in the educational process and its quality. The topic of the round table meeting “Problems and Prospects of Teaching Human Anatomy in the Changing Conditions of the Educational Environment” was devoted to this important problem. Particular attention was paid to the report of the luminary of morphology, head. Department of Human Anatomy, RUDN University, Professor V.I. Kozlov, which was dedicated to traditional and innovative forms of teaching.
At the end of the conference, Professor H.E N.T. Alekseeva, who emphasized the importance of the dialogue between scientists-morphologists and clinicians, in which fundamental science allows the specialists of the clinical profile to expand their understanding of the morphological and functional organization of the human body, and, on the basis of fundamental knowledge, to develop new methods for diagnosing and treating diseases. She also noted that innovative forms of digital learning can complement the classical methods of teaching human anatomy and topographic anatomy, serve as an auxiliary educational technology, but will never become an alternative to working with cadaver material in the section hall. The opinion of Professor N.T. Alekseeva was supported by both Russian and foreign morphologists in their numerous speeches.
Osh State University was represented by Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Normal Physiology H.E L.M. Dzhumaev and head. department, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor K.Sh. Sakibaev, who thanked all the participants for the successful completion of the conference and noted that it became a convenient platform for the exchange of scientific experience using the Internet infrastructure, that there were opportunities to further conduct research already at the interstate levels, and each participant acquired new ideas and business ties. Special thanks were expressed to the President of SMSAHE, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, H.E Professor D.B. Nikityuk and head. Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor H.E N.T. Alekseeva for comprehensive support and the opportunity to speak on the platform of the Scientific Medical Society of Anatomists, Histologists and Embryologists.
Member of the Presidium of SMSAHE, Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy of RUDN H.E S.V. Klochkova thanked the organizers and participants of the conference for the high quality of the organization of the event, the relevance and scientific content of the reports and the friendly atmosphere.
The results of the conference were summed up by the vice-rector for international activities of V.G. N.N. Burdenko associate professor A.V. Karpov. On behalf of the administration, she expressed gratitude to colleagues from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, noted the advantage of holding online conferences, which make it possible to reduce huge distances between participants, but at the same time ensure communication between scientists. She said that in the coming months it is planned to sign an Agreement on scientific cooperation between VSMU. N.N. Burdenko and Osh State University.
Thus, the organized scientific forum gave its results. Scientific and methodological format of cooperation between VSMU named after N.N. Burdenko, RUDN, Osh State University and Andijan State Medical Institute will continue in the future. International conferences dedicated to issues of surgery and educational activities were announced between universities.
