Talkingclub at the Department of Clinical Disciplines 2
A competent MMF teacher should be fluent in English, since all lecture and practical classes are conducted in English. The free expression of one’s thoughts, discussion, and close contact with students leads to the full development of the subject and the achievement of the expected result. A one-month short English course was organized at the Department of Clinical Disciplines 2 on November 20, 2018, where the main teachers mainly participated. The course was organized by an assistant teacher, Zh. A. Abdirasulova, who visited the United States on the FLEX program for 2010-2011, and she also has extensive experience in teaching English at educational centers in Osh. Classes were held in a dynamic rhythm, where teachers were given the opportunity to use new medical terminologies with vocabulary expansion, which facilitate orientation in the management of their subject. The closing of the short English course was held on December 20, 2018 with the organization “talking club”, while the teachers of the department met with a native English speaker KelliMaria Crawford- a volunteer from the US Peace Corps. During the meeting, the participants discussed and compared the culture, language, and economy of Kyrgyzstan, India, and the United States in English, where the teachers actively led the discussion and freely expressed their thoughts. We remind that the purpose of the courses is to support the teachers of the department in their professional growth, to acquaint students with the basic principles of the communicative approach. Conversation club with a foreigner, for whom English is a native language, the spoken language is rapidly developing. Therefore, during the second semester of the 2018-2019 academic year, the department of “Clinical Disciplines 2” plans to increase the organization of such meetings, as teachers are given great pleasure with the demonstration of the real enthusiasm of learning English.
