OSH STATE UNIVERSITY COOPERATES WITH FRENCH UNIVERSITIES.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Kyrgyz Republic Francois Delaus visited Osh State University. He was received by Kojobekov. During the official meeting the sides discussed issues of cooperation.
In his speech, the Ambassador noted that he received a lot of information about Osh State University, which has about 45,000 students. He said he was particularly impressed by the fact that 15 percent of the city’s population is studying. He said he hoped to open a French-German cultural and humanitarian center in Bishkek by the end of this year and work closely with Osh State University. He noted with satisfaction that Osh State University is actively working with European universities in the framework of the Erasmus + program, adding that in the coming days will consider the establishment of relations between French universities, in particular the University of Poitiers and Osh State University.
Rector Kudaiberdi Gaparalievich noted that Osh State University has been ranked first in the national rankings for 5 years in a row as the largest classical university in all disciplines. He said that he is working on the development strategy “10 + 10 + 10 + 10”, the establishment of a double degree program with foreign universities. He also noted that the university has sufficient experience in cooperation with foreign universities, including European ones, in particular, academic mobility, joint educational programs, joint publication of articles in Web of Science, Scopus indexed scientific journals, etc. He expressed interest in working in these areas. He reminded that the French language will be taught at the Faculty of World Languages and Culture, and called on the embassy to act as a bridge for cooperation with French universities and to consider opening a French Center for Intellectual Development at Osh State University.
Let us remind you that the French Embassy closely cooperates with Osh State University in the cultural, humanitarian and educational spheres. Prior to the pandemic, in early 2020, former Ambassador Michael Roux visited and exchanged views on cooperation issues.
