Implementation of joint educational programs with Ural State Medical University, Russia

Rector of Osh state university (OshSU) His Excellency Mr. Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov and rector of Ural state medical university (USMU) Her Excellency Ms. Olga Kovtun signed an agreement on the implementation of joint educational programs online.
The agreement on the specialties “Medicine”, “Pediatrics”, “Dentistry” will be implemented from the 2020-2021 academic year. So far, the curricula of the two partner universities have been harmonized.
According to the signed agreement, admission to the program will be based on the results of the national testing and the competition conducted by USMU in the distance form. Successful applicants will be admitted to both universities at the same time. Students majoring in “Medicine” and “Pediatrics” study at Osh state university for 6 semesters from 1st to 3rd year, at Ural state medical university for 6 semesters from 4th to 6th year. Students majoring in Dentistry study at Osh state university for 6 semesters from 1st to 3rd year, and at Ural state medical university for 4th semester from 4th to 5th year. Students who successfully complete their studies will receive a diploma from both universities.
Rector of Osh state university Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov noted that the signing of the agreement is an important event in the cross-year between Kyrgyzstan and Russia: “in the cross-year, cooperation in the field of education is a priority among the planned activities to improve cooperation. On the basis of joint educational programs, students study simultaneously at two universities and have two Russian and Kyrgyz diplomas. I believe that this is the contribution of the two universities to strengthening friendship and fruitful cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. We agreed with the rector of USMU Olga Kovtun to exchange students, conduct practical trainings, improve the skills of teachers, implement joint projects, and cooperate in scientific and other areas.”

Osh State University currently works closely with more than 50 Russian universities. In 2020, the Kyrgyz-Russian Faculty was opened in cooperation with the South Ural State University. The building of the branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University is under construction. Every semester, students of Osh state university undergo academic mobility at dozens of Russian universities
