DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL AND HUMANITARIAN DISCIPLINE, FEBRUARY, 2022: IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE WORLD NATIVE LANGUAGE DAY, A FESTIVE EVENT ORGANIZED BY THE MAYOR’S HOUSE OF OSH CITY WAS HELD IN OSHSU
On February 28, as part of the World Mother Language Day, a festive event was held at Osh State University, organized by the Mayor’s Office of Osh. The event was attended by 5 universities of the city. The event began with a viewing of an exhibition of handicrafts. The festive event was attended by the vice-mayor of the city of Osh Venera Ryskulova, rectors of the city’s universities, chairman of the Osh branch of the Assembly of Peoples of Kyrgyzstan Baltagul Nurumbetov, university faculty and students.
During the event, students of the international medical faculty showed a fragment of the Indian wedding ceremony. As a result of the event, the Vice-Mayor of the city of Osh Venera Ryskulova presented the participants of the universities with prizes and letters of thanks on behalf of the mayor’s office of the city of Osh. In her speech, the vice-mayor of Osh noted the importance of the language in each ethnic group, as the most powerful tool for the preservation and development of material and spiritual heritage. International Mother Language Day, proclaimed by the UNESCO General Conference on November 17, 1999, has been celebrated annually since 2000 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.
