Bekzhan Jumabaev, a fourth-year student, was elected to the student ombudsman’s office of Osh State University
Osh State University held an election on May 6 for the student ombudsman of the student government.
192 delegates from full-time students of Osh State University voted in the elections.
Adilet Abdyrakhmanov, who first headed the student ombudsman’s office at the university for two years, gave a final report on his work. Afterwards, 5 students nominated for the post of student ombudsman introduced their platforms and answered questions.
As a result, Bekzhan Jumabaev, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Oriental Studies and History, was elected to the post of student ombudsman. Chairman of the trade union of Osh State University Absamat Sattarov chaired the election.
The Ombudsman’s Office of Osh State University was established on December 10, 2007. The Ombudsman is elected by all students of Osh State University once for a term of 2 years. The Ombudsman’s Office ensures the observance of constitutional, academic rights and freedoms of students.
