An educational and research laboratory named after Professor Burul Karimova has been opened – The opening ceremony of the educational and scientific laboratory “Biodiversity of Plants” named after Professor Burul Karimova, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Honored Worker of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, winner of the Medal of Honor, took place on March 11 at Osh State University.
The event was attended by rectors of universities in Osh, faculty of Osh State University, relatives of the scientist, as well as online scientists from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, who shared their memories of Professor Burul Karimova.
The laboratory is equipped with plant collections, herbariums, state-of-the-art microscopes, interactive whiteboards, and projectors. There are also scientific articles, journals, reference books, the Red Book, monographs, dictionaries, manuals, and literary works written by the school of Professor B. Karimova on flora.
H.E Burul Karimova is the first scientist in the country to receive a doctorate in biology, held senior positions at Osh State University and made a significant contribution to the development of educational institutions, was also a member of the Osh City Council of the 3rd convocation as a public figure.
Author of 2 copyright certificates, 3 patents, 7 monographs, 5 textbooks, several textbooks and more than 200 scientific articles.
Who shared her destiny with Osh State University, was awarded the title of a great teacher, distinguished by her wisdom, intelligence and generosity. H.E Burul Karimova died in 2020 at the age of 81.
