STUDENT-PATIENT COMMUNICATION. VISIT OF 4-YEAR STUDENTS INFECTIOUS HOSPITAL.

04/30/2023 4th year students together with the teacher of the department Mamatkulova N.M. visited the infectious diseases department during the night duty of the infectious disease specialist Abzhaparova A.Z. At the beginning of the visit, the teacher acquainted the students with the structure of the infectious diseases hospital, with the internal regulations, with the order of communication with patients and personal hygiene. The students visited the admissions department, the department of hepatology, where they examined patients with the following diagnoses: 1. Chronic viral hepatitis B with delta virus. Cirrhosis of the liver. 2. Chronic hepatitis C, 3. Acute brucellosis, 4. Fever of unknown origin, and 5. Bacterial intestinal infection of unknown etiology.

The teacher Mamatkulova clearly demonstrated to the students the physical examination of the patient, the algorithm for examining the patient, taking an anamnesis, and palpation of the liver. During the examination of the patient, the students communicated with the patients, based on complaints and physical examination and on the basis of the results of laboratory data, the students made a preliminary diagnosis. The purpose of visiting the infectious disease department is to develop the student’s skills of clinical thinking, the assimilation of practical skills and abilities necessary for applying the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice. As a result, students examined several clinical cases and got acquainted with the tactics of their treatment.
