ELMIRA ABDINABIEVNA MIDINOVA, TEACHER OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SLM, PARTICIPATED IN THE INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (IVLP) IS THE LEADING PROFESSIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM OF THE US STATE DEPARTMENT.
The International Leadership Program (IVLP) is the US State Department’s flagship professional exchange program. During short visits to the United States, foreign leaders in various fields get to know the country and forge strong relationships with their American counterparts. Professional meetings reflect the professional interests of the participants.
This exchange program is designed for professionals who are leaders in governmental and non-governmental organizations in various fields. The aim of this program is to improve mutual understanding through communication on a personal and professional level to support the exchange of ideas and experiences. The program is administered by the Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The program started on October 24, 2022 and ended on November 11, 2022 with a departure on October 22, 2022 and a return on November 14, 2022.
The 2022 International Visits was under the theme No Longer Hidden: Empowering Women Leaders in STEM.
The program was held in 4 cities (states) of America:
Washington DC (District of Columbia) visited Johns Hopkins University (Applied Physics Laboratory), Smithsonian institution, Workshops with National Geographic and U.S. Department of States, National Academy of Sciences.
St. Petersburg (Florida, USA) visited 3 schools, Oceanography camp, Innovation lab and STEM center at St. Petersburg College, and Panel discussion with representatives of the World Partnership.

University of Southern California (USC)-at this meeting, the group will be split in half, with one group visiting the Haptics Robotics and Virtual Interaction Lab (HaRVI) while the other group visits the USC Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience and then the groups switch places.
