PHD DOCTORAL STUDENTS VISITED THE UNIVERSITY CLINIC IN KIEL.
On October 5, 22, PhD students visited the University Hospital of Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) in Kiel. The medical clinic is one of the largest medical centers in Germany. He provides medical care at the highest level, especially for patients in need of highly differentiated diagnostics and therapy. A unique feature of university medicine is the synergy between healthcare, research and teaching, bringing scientific discoveries directly into the healthcare system. UKSH supports a full range of medical and multidisciplinary centers, cares for patients with rare diseases and extreme medical expenses, operates university dispensaries and provides emergency care. UKSH is the only top healthcare provider in northern Germany. During a visit to the clinic, doctoral students were present at a unique operation to remove a kidney tumor using the DaVinci device (Da Vinci) – a new generation robot that makes it possible to perform surgery through small incisions using miniature manipulators and high-resolution 3D cameras that give the surgeon the most complete image operation sites. The operation was performed by the professor of the clinic, head of the department of urology, our compatriot Daniyar Osmonov. Also, after the operation, we had a conversation about his scientific activities, where he shared the results of his achievements.
