05/20/2023 THE INTERUNIVERSITY STUDENT OLYMPIAD IN SURGERY IMF OSHSU WAS HELD

On May 20, 2023, the I Interuniversity Student Olympiad in Surgery for students studying in Russian and English was held at IMF Osh State University. The Olympiad was organized by the Department of Surgical Disciplines with a course in Traumatology. 7 teams from various medical universities of Kyrgyzstan participated in the Olympiad (MMF Osh State University, DREAMTEAM team, Faculty of Medicine of Osh State University, EAGLES team, OMMU, KSMA teams MURAS and AK KEME, KRSU team IMPERIUM, MHSM team VITALVICTORS). The program of the Olympiad was rich and consisted of several stages. The main stage included the demonstration by the participants of surgical skills in simulated clinical situations. The participants of the Olympiad prepared according to the given criteria. Doctors and candidates of medical sciences in surgery, urology and cardiology were also invited as a jury for a competent assessment of each competition. During the competition, students conscientiously passed 6 tests. The Grand Prix in the Olympiad was won by the MURAS team from KSMA, the first place was also taken by the AK KEME team from KSMA, the second place was given to the IMPERIUM team from KRSU, and the third place was taken by the EAGLES team from the Medical Faculty of Osh State University. The DREAM TEAM team, consisting of students of the International Medical Faculty, took 1st place in the competition “Intubation of the trachea” and 2nd place in the competition “Endovideosurgery”. All competitors showed themselves in a worthy manner and a high level of knowledge and practical skills in surgery was noted. The winners were awarded diplomas, and the team that won the Grand Prix, the winner’s cup.
